Like a real Alpha system, it is possible to launch Avanti without a console if the console boot parameters are properly configured.

Note:Launching Avanti as a service requires that firmware parameters be properly set and the console and TTA0/tty01 “Start session automatically” options be disabled.  See Installing Avanti as a Service for details.
