Avanti supports the use of physical serial devices.  Physical devices can be connected to an Avanti system by assigning a host system COM port to the Avanti virtual serial port.  See Serial Ports: OPA0/tty00 – TTA0/tty01, for instructions on assigning a serial port to a COM device.

Note:Baud rate mismatches between the Avanti serial port setting and the serial device can result in a hung serial port.
